Uncommon Oppression
The oppression of the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) is uncommon.
This is because unlike other oppressed groups we are taught in childhood by those that have the greatest influence…

Dreaded Time Again
Yes once again in the USA people are competing for the job of President. What does this event mean to pro Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) equality activists? This is when our community becomes the target for discriminatory dogmatic diatribe.
Politicians in the USA are not elected to provide religious leadership. In this country we have in the first amendment “…separation between religion and matters of the…

Dan Choi Needs Folks To Sign This Petition
The below message is from Dan Choi.
Its important to not only sign this, but ask others to as well.
DADT victims get a double whammy.
Not only are their lives and careers severely negatively impacted by being fired for being LGBT, but Uncle Sam afterwards demands they give money back for not fulfilling their service time in the…

Got Spine? Nope!
Once again we the LGBT employees of the Department of Defense (DOD) have been betrayed by both our DOD senior leadership and the Commander and Chief. Its not because any of these people are intentionally mean, but it is because they lack the spine to do what they know are the right things.
As an important example: the LGBT community was told that the President was going to share the same benefits that Department of State Clinton is sharing for gay couples within her purview…

Equality Isn't An Emergency Stay on the DADT Injunction
We've seen it all, but we sincerely hoped that we would not see this President an expert in constitutional law have his Department of Justice (DOJ) for a second time request an "Emergency Stay" on the
Don't Ask Don't Tell (DADT) injunction.
Please say it isn't so.
Tell us this is a bad dream and that our President is not…

And, denied
So, my civilian personnel office believed my partner/spouse should be recognized as my dependant here in Korea. But when we tried to get him a base civilian dependant ID card, the commander over that section wanted to get a legal reading from the base legal office. They did their research for a week, and came back to say the Air Force cannot issue the ID card because the regulations covering ID cards and related benefits does not include "domestic partner", and the only other category that…

Prolonged Inequality Must Cease
In 1996 then candidate Obama did fill out a form that showed he supported same-gender marriage. Now President Obama appears to be playing politics with our equality, because he mixes religion with matters of the State. While claiming he has not yet evolved to accept marriage equality due to religion.
While Governor Cuomo of NY proactively pursued marriage equality in his state. He successfully worked with both major parties to…

Update on overseas benefits for domestic partner
I went down and spoke with my local civilian personnel office. they were very receptive and responsive. It was news to them that the JTR had changed. I presented my still valid marriage license from California which they accepted as proof of the relationship. They gave me a new verification of employment letter (I think this is unique to Pacific locations, by the local SOFA) showing Tim as my domestic partner, and sent in paperwork to increase my post allowance and living quarters…

Getting Domestic Partner on PCS Orders
Were you aware that the General Services Administration finalized changes to the Federal Travel Regulation to add "domestic partner" to the definition of immediate family for travel benefits. This took effect 1 April 2011. I am now trying to get the Air Force to amend my PCS orders to Korea to include my partner. He is already here with me in Korea, but he has no status to stay in the country. He has to leave the country and return every 90 days to re-set his tourist visa for Korea. My…

TELL the TRUTH
1. When there was testimony on the hill by Pentagon leadership it was stated that LGBT (they call all of use the H word) is only 2 – 3%. This is inaccurate. The 2000 USA census barely counted any of us and claimed we were 4% of the…

DADT Must End NOW
DOD FED GLOBE completely supports the LCR appeal to end the US ban on openly LGB soldiers immediately. LCR filed their brief in the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco yesterday. We concur and commend this action!
LCR is absolutely right that it is unconstitutional for Congress to allow the military to keep the ban while it trains troops to deal with the change after lawmakers have…

DOMA Done But We R Not
Today our President Obama declared that the so-called "Defense of Marriage Act" or "DOMA" is unconstitutional discrimination against legally married same-sex couples, and stated that the Administration will no longer defend the law in Court. The President also concluded that "classifications based on sexual orientation should be subject to a more heightened standard of scrutiny."
