OUT: A book to change minds

As a Gay Straight Alliance advisor at my high school, I often notice something: many people who were not in the LGBT community just didn't understand why LGBT people felt ostracized. They didn't get it on a gut level.

Mary Ann Talbot was born an orphan in London on February 2, 1778.  Her mother died at Talbot’s birth and the child was raised by a series of what we would now call foster homes and in boarding schools.  She claimed to be the illegitimate…

The reason it has taken so long in the United States for equality activists to begin really turning things around is due to the entrenched origin of the discrimination that the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) community has suffered through for so long. There are six areas that are the origin of this discrimination:…

Report the DADT Impact Analysis

The Don't Ask Don't Tell (DADT) impact analysis is an example of government; "Fraud, waste, and abuse." It is not an objective analysis, but it is a subjective analysis.

Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) Service Members cannot answer honestly, they can be tracked by their CAC cards. LGBT civilian and contractor employees of the Department of Defense are completely left out of the process. Thus this DADT Impact analysis leaves out a conservative estimate of 250,000 employees… Continue

The Road to the White House

On April 20, 2010 at about three o’clock in the morning, when some people are sleeping in a nice warm bed under covers getting a good night’s rest, I was in my jail cell watching a roach crawl along the wall praying it would not reach my bunk, I asked myself “why am I doing this, what is the purpose?” It had been several hours since I handcuffed myself to the fence of the White…
