Today our President Obama declared that the so-called "Defense of Marriage Act" or "DOMA" is unconstitutional discrimination against legally married same-sex couples, and stated that the Administration will no longer defend the law in Court. The President also concluded that "classifications based on sexual orientation should be subject to a more heightened standard of scrutiny."

Let Our People Wed, Work, & Serve

In California it is apparent that the infamous 2008 Prop 8 is in its last throws of its dance with death. The "Stay" will be lifted on Aug 18, 2010 pending a decision by the 9th circuit court of appeals.

Still we have a long way to go, because Prop 8 does not help us where we need it most; at the Federal level.
