LCR Lawsuit Vs. DADT Repeal Legislation

The LCR lawsuit will stop immediately the illegal unconstitutional mandate that LGB Service Members go into the closet. It is the best solution. It will restore our civil rights of "Freedom of Speech," "Protection from self incrimination," and "Equality clause."

Historically the Department of Defense has an unwritten policy/ rule that excludes LGBT area from its entire diversity program for all employees including the civilians. It has however, spread significant stereotyping and harassed perceived LGBT employees incuding; civil service, military, and aligned corporations contractors. It is an extremely hostile environment to work in for LGBT.

The repeal DADT legislation excludes a time limit as well as Transgender service members. For Transgender service members no matter the DADT solution picked they still are in a "Don't Tell" situation. We must continue to push for their equality in the DOD.

The purpose of diversity training is to prevent the workforce from providing mistreatment of members of the discriminated class. Rest assured that LGBT employees of and associated with the DOD are the most harassed class that there is. The problem is that DADT sends the message that is it okay to treat the LGBT employee as inferior. Of course this is wrong thinking. 

The DOD has the ability to by Video Teleconferencing (VTC) teach desensitivity training that includes LGBT to all Commanding Officers, Technical Directors, and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) leads in under a week. The training already does exist and has for a long time. It has been provided by a DOD civil servant since 2008. Only to be slow rolled and or ignored. The DOD could have trained these folks any time and then tasked them to train all employees, but they did not.

We must push for this intentional failure in the DOD to provide LGBT training as a major reason the LCR lawsuit must go forward to insure that the injustice of DADT is completely stopped immediately. We must let it be known that we are highly offended by the continued use of lies and distortions by the DOJ to justify both DADT and DOMA.
